Equity Commitment

Our work begins with knowledge held by an Indigenous community and aims to reach people in every economic circumstance. Equity is part of how we do that work, not an addition to it.

We strive to:

• Recognise traditional knowledge. Sovereign recognises the Nimboran people as holders of the traditional knowledge behind our first programme, whatever the source of the plant material. We will seek to involve the community and to agree a fair benefit-sharing arrangement with them.
• Equitable access. We aim to price and distribute the product so it is affordable in lower-income markets, not only in wealthy ones.
• Inclusive research. We warmly welcome collaboration with researchers and institutions from the regions where the plant grows.
• Fair partnerships. We will credit collaborators’ contributions and share benefits fairly with those who take part.
• Report progress. We will report progress on these commitments publicly each year.
